Rural DhyanaMandhira
ध्यान मंदिर · Space of Silence & RetreatA sanctuary for deep reflection and silence, nestled within the quiet rhythms of nature. Blissmaya's Rural Dhyana Mandhira exists as a gateway for those seeking restoration, meditation, and a complete pause from urban noise.
Sanctuary for the
Restless Mind
In our fast-paced urban environments, we are constantly overstimulated by sights, sounds, and messages. Our nervous system is kept in a perpetual state of reaction. The Rural Dhyana Mandhira represents Blissmaya’s contemplative and restorative vision in a setting that is deeply nature-connected.
It is intended as a physical space for silence, reflection, and meditation — offering a sanctuary away from daily speed and friction. Built with minimal ecological footprint, it serves as a canvas where you can re-align with the natural cycles of the earth.
"Silence is not the absence of sound, but the presence of undivided attention."
— Blissmaya FoundationWhy We Retreat
Retreating is not escaping. It is turning back to what is essential. By taking a brief step out of our daily contexts, we clear the static and allow the deeper, quieter currents of the mind to emerge.
- Sensory Fasting: Giving the eyes, ears, and mind a complete rest from screens and noise.
- Somatic Integration: Linking breath, posture, and still environments to recalibrate the nervous system.
- Conscious Living: Experiencing a simple, slow, and mindful rhythm of sleeping, eating, and breathing.
Four Pathways to Stillness
The Mandhira does not prescribe dogmatic routines. We offer simple, time-tested modalities to foster awareness and renewal.

A Day in the Mandhira
While retreats can be self-guided, we provide a soft structural baseline for visitors to lean into.
Dawn Gathering & Pranayama
We begin the day in silence as the sun rises. A light, guided breathwork session prepares the lungs and system, followed by 30 minutes of silent meditation in the hall.
Vana Chankamana (Forest Walk)
After a simple nourishing breakfast, visitors are guided on a slow, sensory walk through the forest trails, exploring walking meditation as a somatic anchor.
Sva-Dhyaya (Self-Directed Reflection)
The afternoon is kept completely unstructured. Visitors are encouraged to read, write, rest in their cottages, or gaze at the reflection pool in silent contemplation.
Dusk Trataka & Integration
As daylight fades, we gather around the pool or in the hall for a candle-gazing (Trataka) session, settling the nervous system before entering evening rest.
Step Away to
Step Within

Retreat Details &
Expectations.
Our lodgings are simple, clean, and intentionally sparse. Each cottage features local mud-plaster walls, tile roofs, comfortable cotton bedding, a writing desk, and basic bathroom amenities. There are no televisions, air conditioners, or high-power electric devices — keeping distraction to an absolute minimum.
While cellular signals are weak but available for emergencies, we strongly encourage a complete digital detox. Upon arrival, guests have the option to check in their devices with the retreat coordinator for the duration of their stay.
We serve simple, satvik, vegetarian meals prepared using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. The food is mild, nourishing, and supportive of contemplative and meditative practices. Special dietary requirements can be discussed prior to arrival.
No, the Mandhira welcomes everyone. Whether you are a seasoned meditator or looking to experience silence for the first time, our coordinators provide appropriate guidance and a safe container for your practice.
